Hello, great openrpa community. Is it possible to recover a user’s files that were deleted by mistake?
Is your OpenRPA connected to app.openiap.io or an OpenCore installation you are running yourself ?
If yes, then most likely you can. Go to the opencore website, go to database, select the openrpa collection, then click undelete. Then you can restore all the files there ( there is a SLIGHT change this will not work, but 99% of the time it will )
So if this is a self hosted opencore, always make sure you also have a database backup. just in case.
Hello Allan, thank you for responding. It is a hosted opencore that was accidentally deleted from openrpa. There are no records of the deleted files.
you need to go here ( be patient, if you are doing this on app.openiap.io or you have a lot of data in the database )
it can be helpful to click Customize table
and enable deleted
and deleted by
Sorry, Allan, for not making myself clear. We have opncore on our own server, and the files were deleted from a desktop openrpa. Is it possible that they are still temporarily stored somewhere?
you have an older version, so the menu field is called entities
not database
, but everything else is the same.
Thanks, Allan. I’ll look into that. If I manage to recover the files, it gives me hope to know that it’s possible.
The files are there, just follow the guides i gave.
Hi Allan, I checked the docker database and found nothing. I couldn’t find the project or any files related to it. Is it possible that they are stored in an intermediate folder or table, or are they deleted immediately?
Can you please answer some questions so we can make sure we fully understand you:
What exactly was deleted:
- OpenRPA was deleted from a Machine.
- OpenCore was deleted from the docker.
- The user was deleted from the OpenCore.
- A Project was deleted from OpenRPA.
- A Workflow was deleted from OpenRPA.
If your answer is 1,4 or 5 the ANswer of Allan is what youa re looking for. YOu log into your openCore go to the entity/database tab (depending on your version) select “undelete” on top and restore the lost files.
If the answer is 3 you create a new user in OpenCore and link that with OpenRPA, none of the important files should be bound to a user you just have to set permissions for the new user.
If the answer is 2 i am not sure if you can recover things easily, it depends on how you deleted opencore.
Thank you, Morphyum, for responding. The flow was deleted from openrpa, but I was able to recover it from opencore. I am grateful to Allan and the great support from the operpa community.
