OpenFlow developer installation

Hello I’m trying to develop in openFlow
I’m using OpenFlow 1.4.35 and I’m following the developer guide in here build from source | openflow

I have changed the environment file quite a bit to make sure the NodeRED section show up. I’m able to create a nodered in docker using the GUI as well.
But when I click on the Open Nodered button. It doesn’t take me anywhere, it just goes back to the main page. I have add my new environment file here.

If allow_personal_nodered is set to true, the website will show a link to openflow. This link will use the value from nodered_domain_schema ( default is “$nodered_id$.” + Config.domain )
This has NEVER been intended to work in a developer environment, but only when used inside docker og kubernetes. as a dev you need to know the url your self and not use allow_personal_nodered

I’m trying to work on a way to create NodeRED instance via Rest API. I can create the nodeRED instance for a user by sending command with WebSocket but not Rest API.

In the current OpenFlow, is there a way for me to do it? And if not, can you give me some suggestion for the approach?

OpenFlow currently only support websocket’s …
But you could start a NodeRED, and using “HTTP in” and “http respone” node create your own REST service for starting and stopping nodered.
There is currently no node’s for creating nodereds ( but there is an “get pods” node for getting any running nodered instances ) so you could use that to check if starting a nodered is needed,
And you can then use noderedutil for creating the nodered, something like

Based on your suggestion, I have connect a WebSocket client when using local login.
Then I create a NodeREDProvider similar to the LoginProvider. In NodeREDProvider I use the code below in an API to start the NodeRED Instance. It is working so far.
