I have cracked it. If the argument has any capital letters in it, it fails. so testarg works but TestArg or testArg fails, this is the same at command line and through a python script

There is examples of both using command line and powershell here.

Try and keep arguments in lowercase it avoids problems remembering casing, arguments are case sensetiv
